He made a valiant effort to recover from the situation he found himself in but the terrain and obstacles presented to him at the time left him with few options.
His piloting craft was superb and having been taken for a fly with Kevin in the Cresco a few weeks ago he knew his machine and the local area a true pilot always enthusiastic about aviation in general. Having watched Kevin and Keith operating of the Aerodrome for a couple days makes one appreciate how intense this AG flying is.
I have been here in Stratford since May and found Kevin a great bloke and general alround good guy taken far to soon. Sympathies to Kevins Family.
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings.
Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hovering there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air,
Up, up the long delirious burning blue.
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew;
And while with silent uplifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God!
