Now Saturday at Stratford Aerodrome was a bit overcast with a bit of low wispy cloud around and blowing 10 to 20 at times so why not go for a fly.
Captain Marr about to taxi for RWY-16 (What I call the Wellington Departure. Same RWY headings as WN international)
Doing the Run Up RWY-16
Bloody Mowing Contractors cheating on there contract AGAIN and this is a Global Company. They are supposed to MOW both sides of the tires.
Having taken off looking to the West you can see the Race course. We were discussing landing options off RWY-34 always a good idea to check where one would go. Great alternative if it goes quiet. But down there lurks wires lots of wires. Just in front of the Race course are Pylons.... probably have to be 500 feet to clear them.
Montague Close maybe the Road leading into the Sub Divison or Paddock just in front of wing.....
The murky stuff. Good to fly in this sort of weather in local surroundings one gets one used to it and not so much of a drama if ya strike it else where.
Here looking South to Hawera.
About to turn finals RWY-16
On the approach RWY-16
Captain Marr Steady as she goes.
Short Finals RWY-16
OFF again that's the Tank trap at Threshold RWY-34.
Ya can probably make out the Pylons at the Race Course in this Pic.
Couple Fairways at the Golf Course and option as well.
Passing overhead Richmond Field.
That is the Power Station at the South Eastern corner of Aerodrome. If you don't read your VFG and do a left hand circuit instead of Right hand for RWY-27. You will be violating the Danger Area over the Power Station.
Heading out Toko way for a blat about.
Turning again Low level circuits RWY-16
That's it for Saturday 6th September.
